Orbeez (hydrogel balls) are small balls made of superabsorbent polymer that absorbs water. When dry, they are 1-2mm in diameter; after soaking, they expand to 7-8mm. Orbeez are 98% water, non-toxic and biodegradable.
Soak dry orbeez in room temperature water for 3-4 hours (ideally 4-6 hours for full size). For 10,000 dry orbeez you need approximately 3 liters of water. After swelling, drain excess water through a sieve. Ready orbeez should be springy and 7-8mm in diameter.
One active game with a gel blaster uses 1,000 to 5,000 orbeez depending on duration and blaster model. Magazine capacity ranges from 50 to 500 balls. We recommend having a supply: a pack of 10,000 orbeez will last several full games.
Yes, orbeez can be reused if they did not break on impact. Collect intact orbeez after the game, rinse and store in water in a sealed container. They maintain their properties for up to 2 weeks. Deformed or dried orbeez should be replaced with new ones.
Orbeez are non-toxic and biodegradable — they do not harm plants, lawns or soil. However, make sure pets and small children do not swallow orbeez. Although the material is non-toxic, swallowing large quantities can cause them to swell in the stomach.
